J&K : Court seeks Farooq's response

Multi-crore scam in the Jammu Kashmir cricket association again highlighted, when
Jammu and Kashmir High Court sought response from former Chief Minister and JKCA president Farooq Abdullah on a public interest litigation (PIL) filed in this matter. The court has also asked the J&K Police, who is probing the case, to submit a status report on next hearing on 19th may 2015. A division bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice D S Thakur issued a notice to Abdullah on a PIL filed by a former state Ranji team player Majid Yaqoob Dar and club cricketer Nisar Ahmad Khan.
The petitioners have alleged that crores of rupees were swindled by the office-bearers of the JKCA who used it for personal gains instead of promoting the game in the state. J&K Police also registered a case against two former officials of JKCA, the then treasurer Ehsan Mirza and then General Secretary Mohammad Saleem Khan. Dr. Farooq already denied in this regards, but court wants some clarification on this case from his side as a President of JKCA.
